St. Lucia 41st Anniversary of Independence. 22nd February, 2020
We join with the people of St. Lucia in giving thanks to God as they celebrate their 41st Anniversary of Independence.
We pray God’s continued guidance on His Excellency Sir Emmanuel Neville Cenac, Governor General. The Honourable Allen Michael Chastanet , Prime Minister, The Honourable Philip Joseph Pierre, Leader of the Opposition, Members of Parliament and the people of St. Lucia
O God our Father, whose will it is that your people should live in ordered societies; inspire the people of St. Lucia with the spirit of justice, truth and love; and so guide their leaders, and all who make decisions on their behalf, that they may direct their affairs in righteousness and peace; that they may live in peace and harmony and to your honour and glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Amen.
National Anthem of St. Lucia
Sons and daughters of Saint Lucia love the land that gave us birth. Land of beaches, hills and valleys, fairest isle of all the earth. Wheresoever you may roam, love, oh love, our island home.
Gone the times when nations battled for this Helen of the West. Gone the days when strife and discord, dimmed her children’s toil and rest. Dawns at last a brighter day, stretches out a glad new way.
May the Good Lord bless our island; guard her sons from woe and harm. May our people, live united, strong in soul and strong in arm. Justice, truth and charity, our ideals forever be.
