Obituary

We regret to announce the death of the following: Mr. Randy Lawrence, Mr. Francis Mathurin,Mr. Jerome Me Barnette and Mr.Michael Garraway.

Mr. Randy Lawrence of Arnos Vale formerly of Georgetown passed on Tuesday 14th February, 2017. The funeralvservice was held at the Church of Christ, Wilson Hill, Kingstown on Tuesday 28th February, 2017. He was the son of Hyacinth lawrence, a lay Minister at the Holy Trinity Parish Church, Georgetown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

We extend our deepest sympathy to Ms. Hyacinth Lawrence, and his wife and family,other relatives and friends of the deceased, and pray that God would grant eternal rest unto them. And Let light perpetual shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Those who mourn we pray that they may experience the comfort of God’s Holy Presence and know the consolation of his love. Amen.

Mr. Francis Mathurin, of Londonderry, Saltibus,passed on Tuesday 21st February, 2017. His funeral service is scheduled for 3:00pm on Thursday 2nd March, 2017 at the Saltibus Adventist Church, St. Lucia. He was the father of the Rev’d Mr. John Mathurin, Non Stipendiary Deacon, Grace Church, Rivierre Doree, St. Lucia.

We extend our deepest sympathy to The Rev’d Mr. John Mathurin and family other relatives and friends of the deceased, and pray that God would grant eternal rest unto them. And Let light perpetual shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Mr. Jerome Me Barnette of Tanteen, St. George’s Grenada passed on Sunday 26th February, 2017. His funeral service (Holy Eucharist) is scheduled for the morning of Thursday 9th March, 2017 at the St. George’s Parish Church, Church Street, St. George’s and the interment following the vespers at the St. John’s Parish Church, Gouyave,St. John,Grenada. The vestments for the vespers is choir wear. Mr. Mc Barnette was a member of the choir and Choir Master at the St. George’s Parish Church for over forty years. He was well known for his baritone solos and was regarded as one of the lead singers in Grenada for several years. He was a member of the Parochial Church Council at St. George for over 30 years. He also represented the Parish on the Island Church Council and served as its Secretary as well. He was also a member and the Executive Secretary of the Anglican Education Central Board of Management for over fifteen years. He also represented the Parish of St. George at Diocesan Synod.

A cradle Anglican steeped in Anglican thought and practice Mr. Mc Barnette led religious instructions in Anglican Schools and at the Grenada Boys Secondary School. As an Educator he was Principal of several Schools including the St. Luke’s Anglican Primary School, Grenville Vale. Mr. Mc Barnette was a communicant in good standing and was present at worship regularly, he fulfilled the Book of Common Prayer precept: “It is the duty of every communicant member to receive Holy Communion frequently after due preparation, particularly on Sundays and on the Greater Holy Days, of which Easter is the chief. Every Parishioner shall contribute regularly of his substance to the maintenance of the worship of God, and the spread of the Gospel,according as God shall prosper him.” He took very seriously his place in the life,worship,work and governance of the Church.

We extend our deepest sympathy to the family, relatives and friends of the deceased, Archdeacon Christian Glasgow and members of the Parish of St. George and pray that God would grant eternal rest unto them. And Let light perpetual shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Mr. Michael Garraway of Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines passed on Tuesday 28th February, 2017 in Trinidad. He was the Grandson of the Rev’d Fr. Frank Garraway, Assist curate of the Parish of St. Mary, Bequia with St.Michael, Canouan and St. Matthias, Union Island.

We extend our deepest sympathy to the Rev’d Fr. Frank Garraway and family, Nel mother of the deceased, other relatives and friends of the deceased, and pray that God would grant eternal rest unto them. And Let light perpetual shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.
