Obituary!

We have learnt of the passing of Mr. Chasley David of Grand Anse, St. George’s Grenada who died at his home on Thursday 26th September, 2019 at the age of 96. Left to mourn are his four sons Philip, The Honourable Peter David, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Grenada, Paul, Patrick and their families, other relatives and friends.

Chasley served on the Parochial Church Council of the Parish of St. George, Grenada and as Priest Warden for over forty years. He was the Parish representative to the Island Church Council and Diocesan Synod for many years. He also served as a member of the Incorporated Trustees of the Church of England in Grenada, The Diocesan Trustees and the Diocesan Board of Finance and Diocesan Council.

Mr. David was a dedicated Christian who loved God and the Church, and gave generously of his time, talent and treasure to the Glory of God, the spread of the Gospel and the well-being of the Church. He ensured that the clergy’s needs were satisfied so that they can carry out their priestly responsibility to the best of their ability and fulfill their pastoral obligations to parishioners and others.

Chasley made it his duty to be at worship regularly and received Holy Communion frequently after due preparation, particularly on Sundays and on the Greater Holy Days, of which Easter is the chief. He was also present at the midday Eucharist on Wednesdays and Fridays in the Chapel at the St. George’s Parish Church. In his latter days he worshipped at St. Vincent Church, Morne Jaloux. ·
