Greetings! Alleluia! The lord is risen indeed. Come, let us adore Him. Alleluia!

Good Shepherd Sunday

In our calendar the Fourth Sunday of Easter is set aside as Vocation Sunday, when we focus on vocations. I have also asked that there be an exchange of pulpits on this Sunday. At the last House of Bishop’s and Provincial Standing Committee meetings of the Church in the Province of the West Indies in Belize, in March, 2017 the decision was taken to observe Good Shepherd Sunday, the Fourth Sunday after Easter as a day on which we highlight the work of Codrington College in the Province and take a special collection to support this work. I encourage you to support this effort to strengthen the work of Codrington College. You are being asked to kindly send this collection to Diocesan Office, for forwarding to the College.

Institution and Induction

The Rev’d Canon Ashton Francis will be Instituted and Inducted as Rector of the Parish of St. Paul, Calliaqua with St. John, Belair at the St. Paul’s Parish Church, Calliaqua 5:00pm on Tuesday 2nd May, 2017 being the feast of St. Athanasius, Bishop of Alexandria, Teacher of the Faith, 373. Your prayers and presence are requested.

Mothers’ Union Provincial Week

The Mothers’ Union of the Church in the Province of the West Indies observes Mothers’ Union Provincial Week 2017 from 30th April to 6th May. Please see the Provincial President’s message attached. I ask all Parishes to kindly focus on and promote the work of the Mothers Union during this week.

Prayers

I ask your prayers for the Rev’d Mrs. Verbina Gonsalves who is scheduled to have cataract surgery on both eyes.

Yours sincerely,

The Rt Rev’d C.Leopold Friday
