To: Clergy and People

From: The Bishop

Greetings!

The National Conversation on Crime and Violence is being coordinated by the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Christian Council in conjunction with the Churches, NGOs, Government, Political Parties and the Business Community, will take place on 18th and 19th April at the Methodist Church Hall. Participants for the Conference will come from all sectors of the population and will seek:

  1. To examine the nature, causes, and consequences of crime and criminality in our society with the aim of assisting in their prevention or reduction.
  1. To explore options for collaborating with existing institutions charged with the prevention, detection, and prosecution of individuals and institutions involved in crime.
  1. To conceptualize and design a workable Plan of Action, for the Churches, to combat violence and crime in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, taking into consideration the work of existing institutions, relevant data and national studies.

We therefore seek the support of Churches by committing the Conference to prayers.

With every good wish and God’s blessings!

Yours sincerely

The Rt. Rev’ d C. Leopold Friday
Bishop of the Windward Islands
