Prayers

I ask your prayers for Mr. Edward Lord from the parish of St. David/St. Paul Grenada, husband of the Rev’d Mrs. Meryl Lord, who is a patient at the General Hospital, St. George’s Grenada.

General Elections

Grenada had General Elections yesterday 23rd June, 2022 and  The National Democratic Congress under the leadership of Mr. Dickon Mitchell won nine of the fifteen  seats contested and the incumbent New National Party under the leadership of Dr. The Honourable Keith Mitchell the remaining six.

We congratulate the National Democratic Congress on their victory at the polls, and give thanks to God for all who have offered themselves for public office at this election and in the past.

We pray God’s continued grace and blessings on the Government and people of Grenada.

Ordination

God willing the Rt. Rev’d C. Leopold Friday, Bishop of the Windward Islands will ordain The Rev’d Ms. Keba Cuffy and The Rev’d Ms. Khadisha Smart to the Holy Order of Priest at 5:00pm on Wednesday 6th July, 2022 being the feast of Thomas More, at the Cathedral Church of St. George, Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Your prayers and presence are kindly requested.

Lambeth Conference

I ask your prayers as Bishops throughout the Anglican Communion prepare for the Lambeth Conference scheduled for 27th July to August gth, 2022 and during the Conference. See the prayer guide attached.

Postulant

Ms. Oneka Morgan of the Cathedral Parish of St. George and St. Andrew, Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines has offered  herself to the ordained ministry full time in the Diocese of the Windward Islands. She has been accepted as a postulant and will be proceeding to Codrington College, Barbados to test her vocation for the academic year beginning August/September 2022. Your prayers are kindly requested.

Diocesan Synod

The Thirty-Eight Triennial Synod of the Diocese of the Windward  Islands is scheduled for the 9th to 14th October, 2022 in St. Lucia at the Cardinal Kelvin Felix Archdiocesan Pastoral Centre, East Winds, Gros Islet, Saint Lucia, with the 9th and 14th being travelling days. The synod is being held under the theme: “Called To Serve # Being A Church of Hope.”

I invite you to pray daily as we prepare for the synod:

Almighty and everlasting Father, you have given the Holy Spirit to abide with us for ever: Bless, we pray, with His grace and presence, the bishops and other clergy and the laity soon to be assembled in your Name, that  your  Church, being preserved in true faith and Godly discipline, may fulfill all the mind of Him who loved it and gave Himself for it, your Son Jesus Christ our Saviour; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
