Diocesan Synod 2016
The thirty sixth Triennial Synod of the Diocese of the Windward Islands is scheduled for 16th to 20th October, 2016 in Grenada. The theme for the synod is: “As a Shoot From the Root: Mission From the Life of the Local Church.”
In preparation for the Synod I am asking each Parish to kindly prepare a report following the format in the attached document and to submit it to Diocesan Office by 31st May, 2016. Following this I’ll appoint a Synod design group to look at these reports and make recommendations for the agenda of the Synod. After this I’ll meet with the Dean and the Archdeacons to finalize the agenda.
The intention is for us to look at these issues in relation to the Five Marks of Mission of the Anglican Communion, along with the Action Plan and other documents from CPWI Provincial Synod of November, 2015 and to map out the way forward for the Diocese based on present realities which exist at the parish level, matters parishioners can identify with and seek to provide ways and means of enhancing our missionary response.
